Precarious Workings in Pursuit of a Government Figure

On the RTE Drivetime radio programme on November 8th, (mp3 download enclosed), Philip Boucher-Hayes went into detail on the think-tank TASC’s report on how up to 20 PERCENT (!!) of Ireland’s employed workforce are in “precarious work”. (Click the link above! WELL worth a listen).

“Look at our falling unemployment! It’s great!”, we are told.

But wonder why Ireland’s government don’t tackle zero hour contracts?

Question why they push for multiple Seetec schemes? Jobbridge?

TASC’s report has ripped open and confirmed a long unquestioned underbelly of fraud, manipulation and deception at the heart of our state, our government, and how our people are treated.

Social Welfare Fraud – Who’s Deceiving Who?

The Budget has not long been announced, and one thing we hear is the massive Social Welfare budget that we need to ‘save’ money on. We constantly read and listen to talk of the supposed vast amount of people defrauding the Social Welfare system; the actions government are taking to stymie such appalling behaviour; and the hundreds of millions being reaped each year by government thwarting these wrongdoers.

But is there something more at play here? Does anyone else feel the growing resentment being advocated by those in power and by the media against people receiving Jobseeker’s payments? Why would this be? Is this perception correct? Are government right in their claims of massive wrong doing due to widespread fraud by those on these payments?

Let’s look at the facts of Social Welfare, its payments and its fraud levels, and compare this to the information the government tells us about the same.
